INTRODUCTION



This is the beautiful, radically different, extremely futuristic, high performance 2 seater seater American homebuilt aircraft that was capable of cruising at 140 to 160 Knots. Featuring an all fiberglass and kevlar airframe, the Quickie Q-200 was fitted with the powerful Continental O-200 100HP engine.

This package features THIRTEEN paint schemes, many different cabin upholstery themes, and several different versions of panel colors, from gray to carbon fiber to lite-blue, racing stripes, car colors, and even one in varnished light wood. This aircraft is fitted with Team Asobo's leading edge Avionics Stack, with GNS530, Transponder, and a bare bones Autopilot for lite help in managing flights and climbouts.

Graphics in the Q-200 are mostly 4K HD in PBR Format with a few bump maps. It is not too hard on most computers. It should not need a powerful rig to run the Q on. If you are running MSFS fine, this should not pull down performance too much.

EXTERIOR MODELS





THIRTEEN DIFFERENT EXTERIOR PAINT SCHEMES



The Quickie Q-200 is mapped with high resolution 4K textures that give it crisp line graphics. Some of the paint schemes are in wild neon colors, some are in white, and several look like air racers with rich graphics and stripe work.




OVER FIVE VERSIONS OF INTERIOR THEMES



There are quite a few interiors with panels in various materials and colorss, from auto paint, regular gray fiberglass, cabonfiber, to very nice racing stripes. The seats range from cloth to nice leather. The interior shell is painted with a spatter paint which quite a few Q-2 and Q-200 builders used when finishing these kit airplanes.



MANY PANEL COLOR VARIATIONS



The instrument panels are what really set the Trinidad apart from other planes. They had a very 'automotive' like appearance with the instruments in cool, rounded pods, similar to the Lotus Esprit, and the Avionics were housed in a cool tower structure between the two instruments pods. The center console added to the car-like experience. So sporty, including arm rests.



4K HIGH RESOLUTION TEXTURES



This aircraft was originally built in regular FS graphics tech, but for MSFS, it was completely reconverted to PBR Material Technology including bump mapping. Much attention to detail was carried out to make her as precise and realistic as possible.

PLEXI RAIN AND SCRATCH EFFECTS





Team Asobo present a brilliant rain effect on plexiglass that shows movement and wind effects on drops on the windscreen and with radical realisation. Once more, they also feature 'Albedo Detail Maps' that show very nice, detailed scuffing and scratches in the plexiglass.



Invision flying the sleek, agile Q through the valleys and hills of Sedona Arizona. I did. As I was working on this plane, my main flight area was Sedona. Lovely area.



two center tanks with fuel transfer system





The Q200 features the realistic actual 'two fuel tank' system, where the front 5 US Gallon Header tank gravity feeds (through engine pump) to the engine, while a second 15 US Gallon tank resides under the front of the seats. The fuel from the seat tank must be transferred up to the Header tank by electrical pump. You must keep aware of this and keep the Header tank from going dry during your flights.

OSHKOSH CAMPING MODE





In honor of the famous yearly OshKosh homebuilt EAA airshow event, I wanted to have a neat little camping tent theme that can be deployed when you park your plane and shut it down. Behold OshKosh mode. A small button on the far right of the instrument panel launches the tents. Happy camping!

COLORIZATIONS



AUTOMOTIVE SUPERCAR COLOR INSPIRATIONS



You will find that some of the colors of the Q's look similar to Lamborghini and Tesla colors. They are inspiringly bright and beautiful and so I used nearly identical colors. Midnight Blue is from Tesla, the Neon Green and Electric Orange is similar to the Lamborghini Huracan colors.



AVIONICS





The Avionics Stack of the Q-200 is all by Team Asobo, makers of Microsoft Flight Simulator. This suite is state of the art technology, using HTML and Java code. It features things like bootup screens and in-depth page layers. This Suite includes the AS530, AS430, and a nice Transponder.

I have also created and included a very 'bare-bones' Autopilot that features the basics LVL mode, HDG, NAV, VS, and you can adjust your VS rate as well as adjust your Altitude via a input knob. But it is not capable of radical automated flight management. It is only there to help out on busy climbouts and holding altitude.





SOUND SYSTEM



The Quickie Q-200 uses a 4 cylinder Continental O-200 100HP 'high performance' engine. I used the Asobo 4 cylinder engine option that I thought sounded best for this sleek little X-Wing beast. I think you will be amazed at the sounds.



FEATURES OF THE Q-200





COOL FEATURES OF THIS RADICAL, FUTURISTIC 'X-WING' BEAST.



THE Q200 USES A RADICAL FLIGHT CONTROL CALLED 'FLEXOR' SYSTEM. THIS ROTATES THE REAR WING MOUNTED AILERONS UPWARDS, CREATING DRAG AND AIMING THE AIRCRAFT UPWARDS. THESE ACT LIKE FLAPS AND SPOILERS.





i HAVE INCLUDED A WAY TO CHANGE OUT THE DARKNESS SETTING OF THE EXTERIOR PLEXI BUBBLE WITH THREE SETTINGS DARK, MEDIUM AND NEARLY-TRANSPARENT. a SMALL BUTTON ON THE RIGHT OF THE PANEL MANAGES THIS FEATURE. THE INTERIOR IS NOT TINTED.





THE Q-200 WITH CONTINENTAL o-200 ENGINE SHOULD YIELD 400 Nm RANGE AT ABOUT 5,000 FEET, WEATHER PERMITTING. THAT PUTS IT AT ABOUT 5 GALLONS PER 100 nm. tHAT IS HOW MUCH IS IN THE HEADER TANK. REMEMBER TO KEEP AN EYE ON FUEL LEVELS.





THE Q-200 USES A UNIQUE FUEL SYSTEM SIMILAR TO THE CONCORD AND OLDER LEAR JETS, WHERE FUEL MUST BE MANUALLY BROUGHT TO THE MAIN TANK. IN THIS CASE, THE Q HAS A TOP/FRONT MOUNTED HEADER TANK THAT IS QUITE SMALL, AND FUEL FROM THE MAIN LOWER TANK UNDER THE SEATS MUST BE BROUGHT UP VIA ELECTRIC PUMP. YOU MUST KEEP AN EYE ON THIS AND MAKE SURE THE HEADER DOESNT RUN DRY DURING YOUR FLIGHT.





I INSTALLED A MESSMIERIZING AMOUNT OF WARNING LIGHTS IN THIS BIRD. ALMOST AS MUCH AS A CHRISTMAS TREE. YOU CAN READ UP ON THEM IN THE OWNERS MANUAL.





A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE INTO DOING CUSTOM REGISTRIES FOR THEIR OWN COUNTRIES, SO i WENT TO GREAT EXTENT TO ADAPT THIS FEATURE OF MSFS CUSTOM REGISTRIES INTO THE Q. THIS PAGE IN THE MANUAL SHOWS THE BASICS FOR THOSE THAT KNOW LITTLE OF HOW TO DO THEIR OWN CUSTOMIZATION TO THE REGISTRY SETTINGS.
