Question: Where is the rudder?
Answer: It is a flying wing. Flying wings do not have rudders. (Neither do birds).
Question: How does it do Yaw turns? What turns the plane on Yaw Axis?
Answer: It uses Spoiler plates that popup in the back, on each side, top and bottom. It also uses a computer controlled algorythm to 'pulse' and feather the inside (turn) fan (prop) to help turn the craft into the desired direction.
Question: Where are the pitch controls for the props (fans.. We call them fans... ).
Answer: There are none. It is totally controlled by the flight computer system.
Question: Where is the Avionics button / switch?
Answer: There isnt one. You have a main power button that turns on all the electrics and that is it. No Avionics button...
Question: Why do the fans turn off when I am at idle (zero throttle) ?
Answer: It is an electric powered plane. The motors do not idle. They are off at idle. You would give your craft 5% throttle to maintain spin of the fans 'if' you wanted to do that.
Question: The gas powered vintage WWII classic Stingreys do not have electric power. Why do they shut off at zero throttle?Answer: Programming issues. We would have to have 31 more textures (x2) for all the planes to be in the folders (RG and FG) to be with the config files and special programming packs that cause the props to turn off in order to do just this small little detail. Massive amount of room on the hard drives as some of the textures are 4K in size and resolution.
Question: What if I run out of electrical power and the gear is up in the RG I am flying. What then?
Answer: Your AI (Stinger) will drop the landing gear at 5% power in case this happens so that if you do run out of power, your gear is already down and locked. If for some reason you still have your gear down and you must land, do it carefully. You have the ability (in this plane) to do gentle belly landings. Just remember, you are paying for the body work if you go and try this.
Question: Why do the popup screens disappear?
Answer: They have timers which enable them to auto-hide. This enables you to not have to turn things on and off all the time. Just tap the icon for radios, for instance, and it comes up. Glance at your settings if needed, or make a correction or setting. Each time you click on a setting, your timer for that page will 'reset' and stay on 'again' for that period of time set.
Question: Can I reset the pages to stay on?
Answer: Niewwp. Unless you have the ability to code in FS2004 XML Schema, then you can open the code and make adjustments, rewriting how it all operates.
Question: What are those rectangles in the GPS screen that keep popping up?
Answer: Those are fake 'Traffic Icon Notification Cards' that turn on when you have traffic in that location. Unfortunately, they are totally fake. You can disable them in the GPS upper icon 'Traffic Cards Management' console page.
Did you know.... There is a 'Alert / System Notification' Card System built into the Left Systems screen? Yep... You just turn them on by going into the icon that looks like a stack of cards. Click on that, you go into the Notifications Card control center, turn it on, Active, and they show up spuratically. They are supposed to look like those attentions in the screens of the 2001 A Space Odyssee space liner (Pan Am Flyer), but in the simulator, they get bothersome, so I made the code to be off at the beginning of the flight.
Did you know.... You have ATC background chatter built into the Protos OS system? Yep.... You click on the WiFi antennae icon 'or' the GPS icon in the top of the Center Protos main Screen, and Voila, you can hear pilots talking with tower. They are all British. There are two. Right click on them to stop them. Keep left clicking and the sound will stack and try to drive you nuts. Do not let it. Right click them.
Did you know.... The AI will introduce himself and tell you information about your plane and OS versions? Yep.... On the Center screen, click on the 'Stingrey' logo. It will show a temporary screen that has data about your new plane. The AI voice will continue to talk as the 'Registry Page' disappears. When you boot up the plane, he will also say 'Hello'. (Just like Hal in 2001 a Space Odyssee). Just remember to treat him nice, or he wont open the canopy door or Hanger door. )
Question: Can I turn off the talking voice?
Answer: Nieewp... Not presently.
Question: Where are the landing gear doors?
Answer: They are flat and designed to pop-out and slide along the belly of the Aeroshell in tracks. This enables the doors to stay out of the wind flow under the wings so no strange dynamic effects occur. When the doors slide back into place, the tracks have spring loaded backs that pop the track covers back 'flush' with the Aeroshell.
Question: What is a Searl APU Quantum Generator?Answer: This is a decades old generator designed by an Engineer in England named Searl. The generator is a series of spinning rings that use magnets with various cores. They spin at a certain 'natural' speed and produce 'cold' electricity 'and....' cold air, oddly enough. When the employees would leave one running for long periods of time on a bench or on the floor, the units had a tendency to hover. Sort of like the Lear gravity engine from very long ago. Searl just got his patent on his generators and I invision his generators being sold world wide for many uses. One would possibly be for space travel. But for now, as an APU Battery Charger for the Proton 'Stingrey'.
